Hi there! I’m Dio.
I love finance. That might sound strange coming from someone who spent five years paying off six figures of debt without a six-figure salary, then another five figuring out what actually moves the needle on building real wealth. But that’s exactly where the passion came from. Understanding money changed my life. If you want the full story, it’s in my first post.
That’s why I started this blog. I want to show women — especially women of color like myself — that money doesn’t have to mean confusion or shame. It can mean joy, alignment with your values and actual freedom. My goal is simple: empower more women to understand their money, own their financial decisions and know that more is possible.
Here we cover the emotional and practical side of money: how beliefs formed in childhood shape your finances, why women specifically face distinct financial obstacles and what it actually takes to build financial independence when you’re starting from confusion, shame, or a system that wasn’t designed with you in mind.
When I’m not thinking about money, I’m in the kitchen improvising something, planning the next trip — I’ve been to over 20 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas — or at home making things with my husband Will. Our life centers around good food, books, biking, health, and Legos. The illustrations here are mine.
I hope this blog helps you understand your own relationship with money. If you already have a good handle on your money story and finances, you probably know someone who doesn’t. Please share this with them. The only way we remove shame around money is by actually talking about it.
